Jouravskite on Xonotlite with Bultfonteinite
N'Chwaning III Mine, Kuruman, Kalahari MN field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Small Cabinet, 5.7 x 3.8 x 0.9 cm
SOLD
A large and showy plate featuring 2 generations of this gorgeous rare species: glassy and gemmy, lemon yellow jouravskite crystals to 1 cm in length are perched on chalky white xonotlite botryoids and pink bultfonteinite. Another generation of small microcrystals sparkles alongside the larger, GEM crystals, for accent! Jouravskite is a complex sulfate carbonate mineral. This is certainly the finest pocket yet found of the species, and pieces like this with both crystal styles are the most desirable.
