Jouravskite on Xonotlite
N'Chwaning III Mine, Kuruman, Kalahari MN field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Small Cabinet, 7.9 x 6.1 x 1.3 cm
SOLD
A significant, rich specimen for this species, showing a large colorful display area: glassy and gemmy, lemon-yellow jouravskite crystals to 1 cm across are emplaced on a thin crust of chalky white spherical aggregates of xonotlite. Minor damage only, and lost in the sparkle and color - but it is in the middle and so the price has been reduced sharply. This piece has a huge amount of crystals, in itself more in one place than I had ever seen before for the species.
