Jouravskite on Xonotlite
N'Chwaning III Mine, Kuruman, Kalahari MN field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Small Cabinet, 8.1 x 4.6 x 3.2 cm
SOLD
Lustrous, lemon yellow spherical aggregates of 1 mm crystals of jouravskite in balls to 1 cm across, contrast nicely with a thin layer of an chalky white xonotlite, which in turn is emplaced on massive hematite ore. A sparkling plate of this rare species, in itself world class by previous standards! This pocket produced two styles of crystals, these small sugary "sprinkles" and large disc-shaped crystals of greater size but less luster.
