Jouravskite on Xonotlite with Bultfonteinite
N'Chwaning III Mine, Kuruman, Kalahari MN field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa
Cabinet, 11.5 x 6.2 x 1.0 cm
SOLD

A large and showy plate featuring 2 generations of this gorgeous rare species: glassy and gemmy, lemon yellow jouravskite crystals to 1 cm in length are perched on chalky white xonotlite botryoids measuring 8 mm across. Another generation of small microcrystals sparkles alongside the larger, GEM crystals, for accent! Jouravskite is a complex sulfate carbonate mineral. There are also drusy botryoids of bultfonteinite for contrast. Overall, great contrasts and large size mark this as world class for the species.
