Chalcosiderite
Wheal Phoenix, Minions, Linkinhorne, Cornwall, Liskeard District, England, UK
Small Cabinet, 6.1 x 6.0 x 4.5 cm
Ex. George Elling
SOLD

This is one of the richest specimens I have seen of this species, found at its best in the old Cornwall district in the 1800s. The three-dimensional piece features a druse of highly lustrous, spherical aggregates of sparkly forest-green chalcosiderite, are aesthetically emplaced in a shallow vug. Minor damage, but trivial in context on this large display surface - especially given this is 150-200 years old. Ex. E.R. Chadbourne collection, along with his label form the early 1900s. Ex George Elling Collection, from an East Coast museum.
