Hemimorphite

Small Cabinet, 5.0 x 4.0 x 3.6 cm
Ex. Herb Obodda

This large miniature piece from the famous mine at Potosi is an absolute stunner! It is composed of numerous, glass-clear bladed crystals that average 1-1.5 cm in length. The crystals are distributed nicely across the limonite matrix so that you can truly appreciate each and every one. It is quite possible that this came out during active mining in the late 1980's. This is one of the best specimens of Hemimorphite in this style that I have seen from the oxide zinc orebody at Level 16 of the Potosi Mine. Much better in person.
