This gemmy, 4.4 cm, pretty blue-green Vivianite crystal is beautifully perched on a matrix of brown, 3 mm Siderite discs. A fine combination specimen, it is from the famous and ancient Trepca Stan Terg Mine (also called the Stari Trg Mine) of Kosovo. The Vivianite has good luster and transmits light very well in one direction. There is a small amount of contacting, but it is expected and has no real effect on the choice aesthetics. Vivianite is an uncommon and seldom available species from this historic mine and this is a rare, display-worthy locality specimen of the species from Europe.
