Turquoise (rare, crystalline)
Bishop Mine, Lynch Station, Campbell Co., Virginia, USA
Miniature, 5.3 x 5.2 x 2.7 cm
SOLD

A beautiful blue specimen of Turquoise, but actually crystallized instead of a nugget! Crystallized turquoise is for some reason a true rarity in nature and occurs only at a very few localities worldwide. This one, in Virginia, is the most famous of them. While the crystals individually are sub-mm, this piece overall has an incredibly rich and pristine coverage area that is loaded with them, making it an important specimen. A rare and old-time specimen of sparkling, micro, sky-blue turquoise crystals on quartz from the classic locality of Lynch Station, Campbell County, Virginia. Many collectors consider that Lynch Station has produced probably the worlds best crystallized turquoise (micros, but still crystals!)
