This elegant set of sliced agate specimens shows an agate nodule replaced, band by band to varying degrees, by Copper. This is a true Copper Country rarity (and the best I have personally seen for sale), and I have seen only several in my lifetime. This matched pair is a whole nodule, neatly sliced and with a good polish. It is one of those unusual and curious things that adds to a "portfolio" of the Copper Country classics, which we all have already. I purchased this from the private collection of a long-term mining and dealing family from the Upper Peninsula, simply to have it because I had never had the chance to buy or sell one before.
