Fluorite
Jaimina Mine, Caravia, Asturias, Spain
Small Cabinet, 5.9 x 5.4 x 4.2 cm
Ex. Herb Obodda
SOLD
An intergrown cluster of glassy and gemmy fluorite crystals, to 2 cm across, exhibits crystals with a faint purple core along with a richer purple color zone near the termination. There is a dusting of minute pyrite crystals on the fluorite crystals, some of which are modified on their corners by octahedral faces. Just beautiful! This is a GEM fluorite, with sparkle and luster that you almost never see in the species, and for which the best specimens from this mine are justifiably famous.
