An impressive rhodo plate from N'Chwaning, showing multiple generations of rhodochrosite deposited one atop the other! Totally covering one side of its matrix of massive, black manganite are spherical aggregates, to 1.7 cm across, of lustrous, multi-hued, pink rhodochrosite. Some of the spheres cover an earlier generation of lustrous and translucent, pinkish red rhodochrosite. A simple piece, yet subtle at the same time. The photos tell the tale.
