Brazilian rhodochrosite is incredibly rare, and this is one approaching "sweet home quality, " the ultimate arbiter! This gemmy crystal has the good color, luster, and gemminess that you would certainly desire from a Colorado rhodo, but it is in fact form a very small pocket found in early 2015, in Brazil at this very famous old manganite mine (worked since the 1800s, industrially, but from which very few specimens came out). It is damaged on the bottom face and contacted/brokenon the back side, but the front looks like a crystal modification, not damage or cleave. It displays beautifully. No more have been found since. I bought this directly in Brazil at the time.
