Green Hydroxylherderite is rare - found only in a few pockets in Pakistan, to date, in all the world. This is from what is regarded as the best pocket, sometimes called the "Houston pocket" after the great large one that found its way into the museum soon after, in the early 2000's. Therefore, this combination of green Hydroxylherderite and Schorl is very important from Pakistan for any collector - indeed it is an important example of the species from anywhere. This fine piece has good luster, is translucent to gemmy, equant, and has a very attractive mint green color. There appears to be a subtle twinning plane that bifrocates the top termination and makes its way down the center of the front face. The crystal is beautifully perched on a lustrous and striated Schorl crystal. An excellent and rare combination specimen, with a vivid fluorescence that is unusually blue. Really, this miniature is aesthetic and top-flight.A custom base is included.
