Significant and attractive, this large Tourmaline is from the less well-known Parun pegmatite field in Afghanistan. This 11 cm single crystal is unrepaired and mostly gemmy, with a striated luster that ranges from fair to very good. The color ranges from an appealing, clear blue-green for most of the crystal to a raspberry-pink termination. The mass of this aesthetic, impressive Tourmaline is 105 grams.. It is tall and dramatic and looks like it should mass twice that, but the slender and elongated look gives you more bang for the buck, therefore. It is HIGHLY translucent and colorful with only minimal backlighting. An old style, seldom seen today.
