Pyrochlore (huge crystal)
Tatarskii Massif, Tatarka Range, Krasnoyarsk Kray, Eastern Siberian Region, Russia
Small Cabinet, 6.2 x 5.8 x 4.7 cm
Ex. Fersman Museum of Moscow

A large, well-formed, mostly lustrous, octahedral crystal of "pyrochlore" with a pleasing yellow-brown color. This large, 6cm crystal is one of the largest examples of the Pyrochlore Group that we know of, especially in such good form! It is essentially complete all around, with only a few relatively insignificant contacts that don't detract from the sheer impact of the size and symmetry of the crystal. A monster! Old material from the Fersman Museum
