Superb and uncommon, this splendid Amazonite specimen is from the Zapot Mine, a well-known Nevada pegmatite. The three unusually sharp, highly lustrous, euhedral crystals cluster together in parallel growth. They have a deep and beautiful turquoise color and, typical for the locale, the mottled and striped faces that are so desirable. The crystal is also doubly terminated, with only a partial contact at the bottom. Embedded in the Amazonite is the termination of a broad (3.3 cm) Smoky Quartz crystal. This is a quality, and quite aesthetic, large Zapot Amazonite combination from the collection of the mine owner, Harvey Gordon. He dug these (with Art helping on some weekends) in the mid-1990s. For the size, I am not aware of any better in this size and quality range. Comes with a custom base.
