This obscure Virgem da Lapa area pegmatite has produced a number of good Tourmalines over the years, Elbaites and Indicolites among them. This is an exquisite, bottle-green Elbaite with good luster and a well-developed termination. It is gemmy throughout, but its most outstanding feature is the selective etching. This creates an architecture that is visually engaging, and mineralogically interesting. The aesthetics, and overall quality, make this a choice Elbaite. Mass is 32 grams.
