Beryl var. Aquamarine

Miniature, 4.2 x 3.5 x 3.4 cm
SOLD

A highly unusual crystal specimen of beryl showing gemmy blue atop a rich pink body, which is a color pattern we do not often see. This specimen, from a small find of early 2014, is a superb miniature. The blue zone is over 1 cm thick, and is no "thin line" of color from one angle, as sometimes can happen. This is obvious and dramatic color! The crystal is actually doubly-terminated, though the bottom is somewhat irregular due to growing against feldspar matrix which constrained it.
