It is hard to tell from a photo, but this is 80 grams! This is the largest good yellow sapphire I have handled or seen. The crystal exhibits an unusual lemon yellow body color with consistent saturation throughout the specimen (normally, most large crystals are zoned and uneven in color). It is a large, well formed, doubly terminated sapphire crystal that has good luster and translucence. A significant specimen, by any rational standard. One last thing to mention is that these often are rolled and worn from both natural processes and post-mining handling, while this one is sharp and well terminated.
