This is a giant for the species! I cannot recall seeing its equal in fact, in size. And, it is perched beautifully on a natural pedestal of matrix! This specimen hosts an equant, composite crystal of lustrous, black bixbyite measuring 2 cm across the edge of the main cube. I must say again how shocked I am at the luck of how this thing formed, perched on a color-contrasting white matrix. And, it is complete all around. This is a MAJOR example of the species and a beautiful rarity in any case.
