Some of the largest, sharpest, most impressive crystals of this rare Copper, Cobalt, Nickel sulfide came out of this find at Katanga. This particular specimen features a complex and modified, lustrous, and silver truncated cuboctahedron. The hexagonal faces are actually tilted within, as if there were several crystals trying to grow at once. It certainly adds interest to the piece. When these new Carrollite specimens were first found, they were instantly regarded as the best of species ever found. These pieces seemed to have disappeared from the market rather quickly. Though contacted in the back, this remains an impressive single crystal.
