Fluorite
Minerva #1, Rosiclare Level, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA
Cabinet, 9.8 x 9.7 x 7.6 cm
Ex. Ross Lillie
SOLD
This beautiful specimen has color going for it, and is a nice reference example for the locality of multicolored fluorite at a fair price. It is not quite complete on back, and has a few small dings and a contact or cleave on the back-right termination, but still has value for this price and displays well on a shelf. It exhibits incredible color zoning with the cores being a rich amber yellow along with both purple and blue zones near the crystal terminations. The stated, very minor damage does not distract from the visual splendor when the specimen is backlit. Trimmed from a larger plate, from the Ross Lillie collection.
