SUPERB tabular crystals of Hubnerite top off this first-class combination piece from the famous Huayllapon Mine in Peru. The Hubnerites are gemmy, deep ruby-red, with lustrous, striated faces. The largest is 1.7 cm. They are associated with sharp, gemmy Quartz crystals and brown Calcite and possibly Scheelite, one of which, or perhaps both, fluoresces a brilliant gold. Rarely have I seen Hubnerites of this quality in this habit, and the overall combination is both interesting, important, and very aesthetic.
