The Sicilian mines have been closed for years and these old pieces are very hard to come by. This one is subtlety aesthetic, and of good quality. The subtlety comes from the fact that both the bright yellow Sulfurs and the goldenrod Sulfurs are gemmy to translucent, as well as lustrous. On first impression, the bright yellow Sulfurs jump visually, and you don't immediately realize just how good the goldenrod Sulfurs actually are. The largest Sulfur measures 2.2 cm, and all are well-formed, translucent to gemmy, and lustrous. There is some very minor bruising, as you would expect, but the condition is very good overall. Much better in person, this is a fine, aesthetic, good quality miniature.
