An unusually large and rich cabinet specimen from this important historic nitrate deposit. The piece features lustrous, deep-green CRYSTALS of Antlerite. The 1-3 mm crystals are found in four main zones along the surface of the specimen. Those that are well-crystallized are gemmy and lustrous. This is a very fine example of the species that also features abundant, quality crystals! Originally acquired from Ward's Science Establishment. This open pit copper mine is now defunct and important specimens are becoming harder to find. Cabinet-sized pieces of this caliber... they are simply unobtainable now.
