Blue Alkali Beryl
Deo Darrah, Khash & Kuran Wa Munjan Districts, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan
Miniature, 3.7 x 3.2 x 1.8 cm
SOLD
Perched on massive albite is an intergrown cluster of tabular, lustrous and translucent, sky blue alkali-rich beryl crystals, to 1.8 cm across. A very rich specimen, though with small crystals. These were originally thought to be Rosterite or Vorobyevite, but further analysis by Dr. Federico Pezzotta confirmed they are alkali-rich beryls.
