This is a well formed elbaite crystal with classic color patterns for this locale, though rarely seen in a complete crystal with any translucence. The color in the bottom third of the crystal is a dark reddish brown which grades upward into a nearly gemmy yellow center. The top third is a rich purplish pink, although with less luster. Very nice classic Russian tourmaline! The mass is 91 grams.
