Rhodochrosite
Mt. St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada
Small Cabinet, 6.0 x 4.1 x 2.9 cm
Ex. Robert Whitmore
SOLD
This is a highly unusual rhodochrosite that would be very hard to place by locality, if handed to you without a label. The color is typical of MSH, but the stark rhombohedral habit is not. In fact, this is one of only a very few from here I have seen, with sharp and untwinned crystals. It has a robust, brick red color and sharp form. The rhodochrosite is on a feldspar matrix. Old material, from the Bob Whitmore Collection. Joe Budd photos.
