Smithsonite Var. Cuprian on Dolomite
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Small Cabinet, 7.2 x 4.5 x 1.9 cm
Ex. Marshall Sussman
SOLD
Superb combination piece of lustrous, mint-green Cuprian Smithsonite crystals scattered over a matrix of fine-grained, fluorescent Dolomite. The Smithsonites, which average 3-4 mm in size, have an unusual, almost dodecahedral habit, and the fact that they occur individually across the Dolomite matrix greatly enhances the aesthetics of each crystal, as well as the overall piece. Formally in the Marshall Sussman Collection. A very elegant small cabinet specimen.
