Spectacular specimen of a large, GEMMY Calcite form Tsumeb. The main crystal is about 50% larger than a quarter, and its complex form, excellent luster, and gemminess make it quite eye-catching. It has only very minor edge wear, which is quite remarkable for its size and exposure. The smaller, 2 cm crystal, even though cleaved out of view along the bottom, is equally as gemmy and appealing. Both the major crystals rest on a bed of about a hundred smaller Calcites that average about .5 cm in size. All are partially coated by Hematite, which actually adds greatly to the aesthetics by creating contrast and visual depth for the crystals. Without question, a very fine Calcite specimen.
