Baryte
Elk Creek, Meade County, South Dakota
Miniature, 5.4 x 2.8 x 1.7 cm
SOLD
Golden Barytes from this odd locality are found, rarely, inside large septarian nodules. Gem crystals such as this, in cluster no less, are seldom found and rarely able to be preserved in one piece due to the tough nature of the rock matrix. This is an exquisite, unusually clean and gemmy cluster of sharp crystals. It is pristine save only a small contact on the back termination of the smallest crystal and a broken termination on the lower-right crystal. The main crystal is perfect, intact, and particularly transparent.
