A dramatic, 3-dimensional specimen of stacked light-pink, lustrous manganocalcite rhombs radiating upward from the base. The crystals are very sharp and lustrous, and overall this is a very aesthetic specimen with more crystals in one piece than you normally saw of this material when it was coming out in the 1980s-90s. Most specimens are smaller, or just a few crystals in cluster or on ugly matrix. I had always regarded this as one of the great examples of a South African manganocalcite. It came out of the Dr. Ludi von Bezing Collection in around 1999-2000 and remains the best of its type I have seen for sale. STRONGLY fluoresces, bright neon orange!
