SHARP specimen with really lustrous crystals of this rare species, especially a 2-cm-long doubly-terminated crystal right in the front-left. That one is partially covered with the andradite garnet that makes up the matrix as well

A very showy example of the more rare form of Bultfonteinite - mostly you see the acicular crystals or rounded balls of powdery crystals. This looks like crystallized willemite from Tsumeb, and is quite solid and different. And beautiful!

K219 - Manganocalcite - $ 1500 SOLD
Wessels Mine, Kalahari Manganese Fields, South Africa

A very pretty , attractive, "puffball", of calcite with a very strong pastel pink color. VERY unusual and subtle, different than most you see of this species.

This somewhat gemmy, translucent crystal is exceptional becaus eyou seldome see LARGER ettringites of this size that have such gemmines,s and retain sharp form, with lustre as well. I've seen many brown ones, few yellow ones. It is complete all around and pristine save for the fact that (perhaps in heat shock) it perfectly cleaved down the middle in transport home form Charlie's, and so what once was a $7500 specimen is now reduced to $1500 to ensure it sells and gets away from me becaus eit is depressing. but it really LOOKS like a pricier rock and displays dramaticaly. I had it shot at the worst possible angle here to catch the join head-on. IN person, the repair is really NOT ovbvious at all, and this remains a significant , rare, and beautiful specimen.

K223 - Sturmanite - $ 475 SOLD

Manganite - Wessels Mine, Kalahari Manganese Fields, South Africa

A very complex aggregate growth of slender, curving manganite crystals , reaching from top to bottom on this specimen. More pronounced curvature and 3-dimensionality in person! This is an excellent specimen of manganite from a manganese mine that really doesn't produce much pure manganite , of specimen calibre. It is more impressive, and quite hefty, in person!

K227 - Calcite - $ 375 SOLD
NChwaning II Mine, Kalahari Manganese Fields, South Africa

Hematite with Andradite Garnet

A stunning miniature, of this classic combination of species for Wessels. Few are found with such a wonderful and aesthetic combination of the garnet coating on hematite! this is essentially one large, elongated crystal of hematite, complete all around save for small contacts near the base.

Another stunning miniature, of this classic combination of species for Wessels. Few are found with such a wonderful and aesthetic combination of the garnet coating on hematite! The hematite here is 2.7 cm and is sharply twinned, as you can see from the reflections . More andradite could be picked off, as the owner wishes, to expose more hematite along the righthand edge, but I like the coating the way it is covering all the crystal but the shockingly fine twin planes facing out..

Inesite on Orlymanite - Wessels Mine, Kalahari Manganese Fields, South Africa

A full miniature of deep cherry-red inesite , perched on matrix of the rare species orlymanite (and this is a substantial amount of that species, here, with some value of its own!). This is a rare piece from a small and unique pocket of the late 1980s, Charlie said. It is a style I had not seen before, and has very different color and even translucency, compared to the inesite of other pockets found here. I should add that, as well, the piece is super-aesthetic!
