Three large crystals from 2008's amazing find of large, blue jeremejevites !
JEREM-1 - Jeremejevite - $ 2400 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 4.4 x 0.6 x 0.5 cm
A giant 4.4-cm crystal with stunning blue depths to the core and a contrasting clear tip. I love the contrast here - some crystals are blue, or clear (too clear), but this balance is very attractive.
JEREM-2 - Jeremejevite - $ 2500 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 4.1 x 1.1 x 0.7 cm
A very fine cluster of jeremejevite with a 4.1-cm central crystal. This is fairly large for the species, to get a terminated crystal. The sidecars at the base add more mass to the piece, making this a fine miniature a bit different from other specimens which are generally singles (from either major locality, Erongo or Swakopmund).
JEREM-3 - Jeremejevite - $ 2250 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 4.7 x 0.9 x 0.6 cm
This is a highly unusual fat, doubly-terminated crystal! There is obvious cutting rough value to this piece, no question about it.
JEREM11-01 - Jeremejevite - $ 900 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.4 x 1.1 x 0.6 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-02 - Jeremejevite - $ 1250 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.4 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-03 - Jeremejevite - $ 600 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.7 x 1.7 x 0.9 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-04 - Jeremejevite - $ 950 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 4.2 x 1.1 x 0.7 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-05 - Jeremejevite - $ 400 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 2.9 x 0.7 x 0.6 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-06 - Jeremejevite - $ 1500 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.8 x 1.2 x 0.9 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-07 - Jeremejevite - $ 1800 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.9 x 1.4 x 1.1 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-08 - Jeremejevite - $ 1250 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia thumbnail, 2.6 x 1.4 x 1.0 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology. This crystal has a lot of intrinsic gem rough value in transparent cutting zones.
JEREM11-09 - Jeremejevite - $ 2500 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 4.6 x 0.7 x 0.6 cm
This is an example from older finds in the Erongo district, showing a more classic crystal morphology and typical gradient of color from clear at the tip to a blue base. When these first came out in a trickle, in about 2000-2002, they caused great excitement in the market and it wsa the first time most collectors could even think of owning a nice example of this species. This piece would have been , easily $5000 at the time. Today however, they are admittedly more common as other pockets have been hit, although crystals of this large size are still uncommon and this is a significant crystal that should be highly valued as a rarity. The new find/pocket, the others presented here, are so obviously and totally different from anything found before.
JEREM11-10 - Jeremejevite - $ 300 SOLD Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.4 x 1.1 x 0.9 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-11 - Jeremejevite - $ 750 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.4 x 1.0 x 0.9 cm
A floater, complete gem crystal of jeremejevite showing extremely high glassy lustre and good, rich color. These crystals are glassy and reflect brightly from many micro-faces. The intense blue color here is characteristic of the older finds at Swakopmund, though those were of a different crystal morphology.
JEREM11-12 - Jeremejevite - $ 2500 Erongo Mountains, Namibia miniature, 3.6 x 1.6 x 1.0 cm
This crystal has a large amount of facet rough value within large gem portions, probably more than the specimen cost itself.
