On a matrix of tiny, colorless, stilbite crystals, is a rosette of lustrous, translucent, deep teal-blue, cavansite which is 2 cm across. Additionally, on the stilbite, there are a couple of gemmy, yellow calcites, to .5 cm across. Beautiful miniature!
This cavansite cluster exhibits a rare stalactitic form and appears to be a floater, complete even at the bottom where it has crystallized around the base. The luster is vibrant, it is translucent, and exhibits a rich, teal blue color. The largest cluster is 1.5 cm across. As an added bonus, the whole piece is covered in minute, colorless, stilbite crystals. BEAUTIFUL and unusual cav specimen!
This is a single rosette composed of individual radiating crystals of cavansite. It exhibits an intense, royal blue, and is both lustrous and translucent. Aside from the very , very neat form of it, it is one of the finest cavansites for quality I have handled in 10 years; and simply one of the most gorgeous, of all. Competition quality miniature, this...NOT just another representative exampole you could beat with more money. I have literally seen thousands of these things, so believe me, i do not rave careflessly on this one.
A large, equant, doubly terminated, fluorapophyllite crystal measuring 3.5 cm across, as well as smaller crystals of the same species, have been totally infused by olive green, mozartite. One of the best examples of this unusual material i have seen, for combination of form and aesthetics. Most are bigger or clunkier; smaller ; or floaters...a matrix cluster like this is quite uncommon!
Nestled in a basaltic vug is a sparkly crystal druse of colorless quartz ,upon which was deposited some incredibly bright and sparkly crystal clusters of the rare species Goosecreekite . Atop the Goosecreekite sits two pearlescent, translucent crystals of heulandite, the largest of which measures 4 cm across and is also doubly terminated.
Equant, intergrown, crystals of fluorapophyllite, to 2.5 cm across, have been totally infused with olive green, mozartite and to a lessr extent by dark red, hematite?. Another superb example of this rarity! This piece is complete around both terminations, with a contact only on the lower-backside.
Intense, royal blue, lustrous, translucent, bladed, cavansite crystals, to 2.0 cm across, are perched atop a matrix of soft, white, massive, stilbite. This is the most rare habit for cavansite here, and in person you can see how wildly different these pseudo-triangular blades are from the standrad ball-shaped crystal aggregates.
This rosette of cavansite is composed of individual, radiating crystals. The lustrous, translucent, crystals are an intense, royal blue. Shocking for color and richness! This is complete, save for contact on the back side only.
This is an exquisite, "bow tie", doubly terminated, crystal cluster, of lustrous, transparent, light, mint green, fluorapophyllite. Attached are a few, pearlescent, stilbite crystals to 1.3 cm across. It is a large, and impressive thumbnail that really stands out from the crowd. its not just a "small apophyllite..."; rather, its an exquisite one that happens to be small. Important difference, especially in competitive thumbnail exhibits!
Perched on a sliver of matrix, is a single, lustrous, transparent, light, mint green, fluorapophyllite crystal, terminated by the basal pinacoid. I love this new find, with unusual dramatic and isolated apophs having such a stark termination, and bought much of it. There are also attached a few pearlescent, stilbite crystals, to 3.0 cm in length. TOP QUALITY miniature, and one of the few smaller ones from this pocket in this size range.
On a basaltic matrix with a white, druse of chalcedony, are emplaced, pearlescent, stilbite crystals, to 2.5 cm across. There is also a single, light, mint- green, fluorapophyllite crystal, with good luster and translucence, which measures 7.0 cm in length. I love this new find, with unusual dramatic and isolated apophs having such a stark termination, and bought much of it!
This is a superb, lustrous, translucent, salmon pink, "bow tie", of stilbite. The form and color are spectacular! Totally common as a species, totally typical in classic bowtie form; and yet of superb quality for the common style and with a bit more color and 3-dimensionality than usual...its those extra bits of quality that make it stand out from the crowd. THIS IS REALLY a good one, far better than average
This is a fine mineral specimen, not only for the two generations of stilbite and a rocket ship-like fluorapophyllite, but also for the the superb balance of the whole specimen. The whole specimen is on a matrix of basalt and small white chalcedony clusters. A large, cauliflower–like cluster of ivory colored, lustrous, translucent, stilbite, to 7.0 cm, is offset by pearlescent, blades of stilbite to 2.5 cm across. Then there is the 5.5 cm tall, lustrous and translucent, pastel green fluorapophyllite crystal alongside. Probably worth more, as its complete 360 and displays wonderfully..
This remarkable specimen features a 10 x 7 x 6 cm twinned calcite still in situ in a gently curving concave vug of top-quality, gemmy apophyllite. The calcite is pristine and the apophyllite as well, except only its periphery along the plate's edges. The piece really "sparkles" in light, which reflects off the apophs and into the calcite, illuminating it from seemingly more angles than you would expect. A 3-diminsional twin of this calibre, on matrix so nicely balanced, is NOT at all common, and I get a piece of this style and quality only about once every 2-3 years
A very showy combination specimen featuring a SPRAY of GEMMY, GLASSY, mint-green apophyllites to 2.2 cm leaping out as accent atop an off-white colored cluster of stilbite bowties. The piece is big, relatively inexpensive, and very dramatic. The apophyllites all have the same unusually modified basal termination of some of the recent apophylllite finds here, differeing markedly from apophyllite terminations of most other pockets in the past. No damage, complete all around - the stilbites are 100% 3-dimensional and complete around their terminations which hang off either end!!
