Presenting a strong selection from an unprecedented new find of what may be the best Botallackites around, from the same general area as the type locale as well! These were found in a remarkable small find on April 20th, 2007. The crystals are electric in color, sized to 2mm but so abundant and colorful that they are very impactful, and stand out dramatically on contrasting matrix. I am told that the actual original location was Wheal Cock, St Just, where it was found by Richard Talling (circa 1865), but he was cagey about the location and labelled them from nearby Botallack mine. So in truth the species should have been called cockite ...
bot01 - Botallackite - $600 Cligga Head, Perranzabuloe, Cornwall, England small cabinet, 8.8 x 6.3 x 3.6 cm
This specimen, of all here, is actually more blue in color than green, perhaps cuprian rich? The crystals are smaller than others, to 1mm, but the coverage area larger and the color , again, strikingly different.
bot02 - Botallackite - $450 Cligga Head, Perranzabuloe, Cornwall, England miniature, 3.9 x 3.7 x 2.4 cm
Oustanding , rich, miniature covered all over with crystals.
bot03 - Botallackite - $950 Cligga Head, Perranzabuloe, Cornwall, England small cabinet, 6.3 x 4.8 x 2.5 cm
Unusually large crystals to 3mm on a large frontal display face, and nicely isolated on the contrasting matrix.

A small specimen perhaps, but the most richly covered with oustanding, sharp crystals on all sides and faces
bot06 - Botallackite - $1250 Cligga Head, Perranzabuloe, Cornwall, England small cabinet, 6.5 x 5.4 x 2.7 cm
Superb specimen with coverage on all sides, on the surface and in protected vugs as well. Brilliantly colorful all over!
bot07 - Botallackite - $1250 Cligga Head, Perranzabuloe, Cornwall, England small cabinet, 6.3 x 3.4 x 3.1 cm
Perhaps my favorite of the lot!!! This specimen has stunning, unusually large crystals to 4mm in size, isolated on a nice display face. To me, this is not the richest, but is the most significant specimen in terms of outright crystal form and size here. All Content and Design ©1996-2008 The Arkenstone | ||||||||||||||
