Monster-Sized crystals from the TYPE LOCALITY
These turned up in an old collection, stored aaway for at LEAST 40 years, if not more. I was stunnined when I saw them, as previously I thought 4-5mm crystals from Utah to be rather large.
A sharp , deep red crystal from the type locality, collected over 40 years ago and recently "uncovered" in an old collection.
A sharp , deep red crystal from the type locality, collected over 40 years ago and recently "uncovered" in an old collection. It looks pseudo-octohedral and is one of the sharpest in the lot. Contacted on back, but pristine on front and showing a good display.
A sharp , deep red crystal from the type locality, collected over 40 years ago and recently "uncovered" in an old collection. It looks pseudo-octohedral , and is very sharply terminated
A sharp , deep red crystal from the type locality, collected over 40 years ago and recently "uncovered" in an old collection. It is nearly undamaged, and is complete all around. It has a riveting, deep color and translucency to it. I believe it is twinned. So far as we know, this is one of the largest examples of the species. Until this little stash came to light of day, I had no idea these even EXISTED beyond micro-sized. This is a monster!

A sharp , deep red crystal from the type locality, collected over 40 years ago and recently "uncovered" in an old collection. It has a riveting, deep color and translucency to it. Although contacted here and there, and with a few small dings, it is otherwise complete. So far as we know, this is one of the largest examples of the species.
